Our Story

There's a moment in a woman's life when she stops dressing for other people and starts dressing for herself.

For me that moment came in front of a mirror, years ago, when I realized no store knew how to speak to me anymore. The windows were talking to twenty-year-olds; everything else seemed designed for "ladies" — muted, shapeless, resigned. In between, nothing. Nothing for a woman who works, who goes out, who still has a great deal to say and simply wants to feel beautiful while she says it.

So I went back to where it all started: my mother Anna's atelier, on a quiet street in Porta Romana, Milan. That's where, as a girl, I watched her take the measurements of the women in the neighborhood, choose fabrics with her hands before her eyes, and sew not for a sample size — but for the person in front of her.

I created Emiliao Milano for her. For the woman who knows who she is, who doesn't chase trends, but looks for pieces that make her feel elegant, confident, finally herself — at any age. Real bodies, not mannequins. Real lives, not runways. Every piece I choose still comes from the same question: "would a woman like me wear this to feel truly like herself?"

Building all of this took years, late nights, and a good part of my life poured into a dream. But that's exactly where the best part came from: today Emiliao Milano is no longer just me. It's a growing team, a real collection, women who trust us. And yet the soul is still that of the small Milanese atelier: care, listening, respect for the woman wearing it.

We don't sell trends. We sell that rare feeling of finally knowing what to put on — because real elegance is timeless, and you deserve to feel beautiful today.

From a neighborhood tailor's shop in Milan, Emiliao Milano now dresses women across the United States. And every time we stop to think about it, it still moves us.

Thank you. For trusting us. For making me feel, every one of you, a little less alone in that first question.

The best is still to come — and we want to build it with you.

With love, Emiliao Milano.
